Mamma and her two 1-year olds will stay with me since they will calmly stay together in the same carrier which makes it easier to maneuver their whereabouts, and then I will work around maid service.

Anyone have any names of CLEAN & SAFE chain motels in Vegas where you are able to enter rooms without going through a lobby?

I have been trying to move to Vegas for 2-years. Maybe this time it will work.
Be careful parking your RV in casino lots or motel lots. People steal moving vans from casino lots now and then. You wouldn't want your kitties lost. Best bet: Have an apt or condo/home lined up before you come out. Drive to the apt/home, install kitties inside and that way you have more peace of mind and no kennels.
Where i live, 3 pets is the max allowed. Be careful. some places won't rent to people with pets or they have a limit on 1-2.

My girlfriend and I just did that trip with 3 cats.. i 40 all the way from the east coast.. (VA-TN-AR-OK-TX-NM-AZ-NV)

we stayed at a couple Holiday Inns.. one in Knoxville, and one in Albuquerque..

if you stay in ABQ i strongly recomend the Holiday inn express off exit 155.. very nice, very clean, awsome shower ect!!

they charged us 10 dollars extra per pet.. i dont think they had a limit. they always just asked how many we had for the charge..

we also stayed in a Best Western, and a Quality Inn.. all very nice rooms.. and all pet friendly.

you might want to say they are declawed.. that seemed to help..

also.. we put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door so the cleaning service didnt enter the room.

they were good in the car until the sun set.. every night on cue they started meowing like crazy!

when you get to vegas we found that pretty much the only pet friendly hotel is the La Quinta inn & Suites off of 95.. (7101 Cascade valley court) the charge for pets is ten dollars per... very nice hotel just outside of summerlin.

we arrived last night.. and found a month-to-month apt this morning... we move in tommarrow.. craigslist was very helpful for finding affordable options.. the job hunt starts on thursday!!!

Good luck with the move.. vegas rocks!!

p.s... everyone says how bad the crime is here.. ive been here A LOT before we moved and i can tell you the crime is NOT that bad AT ALL..
we moved out here from Virginia.. (Richmond is 15th most dangerous city) the east coast cities are awful with violent crimes compared to vegas.. and its soo nice out here, clean etc..

Although I cannot offer much advice for your journey, I had to chime in about my experience traveling with 4 cats in 1974. For a month and a half, we lived with the cats in an econoline van, traveling from Western Pennsylvania to California. Three of the cats were a mom and her two daughters, the other was an orphan who was sometimes picked on by the other three, so we had to build separate cages to accomodate the hostility. My animals always came first so we made do with very tight sleeping accomodations. Sometimes we let the cats roam around the van when we were driving which seems foolhardy to me now. Although I couldn't repeat that journey, when one is young nothing seems impossible.
Traveling with animals is always a challenge, especially with cats. I do wish more motels would have pet only rooms that were uncarpeted and easily cleaned.

From one cat lover to another, good luck with your relocation.

THANK YOU, ALL !!!!!

Your advice has been extraordinarily helpful. I now know my travel will hold the option of lodging in Las Vegas at one of the hotel/motels mentioned, which was the most difficult logistic of all.

Once arriving in Vegas, I will need lodging for about 3-weeks, and the thought of having to board or hide my cats at every turn was the most dreaded part of this major move.

Now, the only thing that is dreaded is the grey/black hose on the RV. Any tips on how bad or not so bad this cleaning chore will be would be helpful, too.

Thanks, again!
