Penske vs. Budget
Making the big move across the country FINALLY, and Penske and Budget have somewhat comparable costs.. anyone have experience with either? I've used Budget before and happy with them, but Penske has offered us a lower rate.... Any suggestions or experience with either?

budget offered me full service for under 3500 and if my weight is lower it can be around 2700-3000.
penske gave me a quote for 22XX, and that for me to do all the work, driving, and gas costs.
so the way i see it, it depends on how much stuff you got. if you can get full service for 3500 or so, in the end its worth it compared to doing it all yourself and in the end costing the same.

I suggest not worrying about the money and hiring a moving company. Then drive across the country in a comfortable car.

Penske truck was ok (they wouldn't take my AAA even though AAA says they take it!) but remember gas is like 6 miles to the gallon or so. Then in New England you have tolls - Cost me much more than I expected for a UHAUL to go from NH to NC than I ever expected and I did all the work and driving. Long distances, really try and hire someone - it's easier on the nerves and works out about the same money wise.
