Default Lebanon, NH, what's it like?

Can anyone tell me what Lebanon, NH is like? MY wife and I are considering a move there. We're originally from the W. Michigan area, but are currently living in Laramie, WY , and would like to return to a "normal" area-no "rednecks," loud pickup trucks, terrible drivers, or viscous unleashed dogs!

We are conservative minded and Catholic. Any information on the people, climate, recreation, apartment rental costs, housing costs, and other costs of living would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I lived in Lebanon from 85-95 and still live in the general area. I think it's nice, the property taxes are ridiculous (as they are in Hanover & West Leb as well). My mom and sister both lives downtown near Sacred Heart the big Catholic church and like being able to walk to the store, work, restaurants, etc.

It's definitely more conservative then Hanover. Good services, easy access to the highways, etc. Schools are average for the area. They have a lot of community events on the green each summer.

As far as the negatives you pointed out, I'd expect you'll find those things here as well. Every area has their hooligans.

Also consider any of the multitude of surrounding towns, including those just across the river in VT (which is where we are)
