Newport NH to Gorham NH
I am a software engineer and I live in Newport NH. My family is interested in moving to the white mountains, specifically Gorham. What kind of Software Engineering jobs are available in the Gorham area. I am willing to drive about 35 minutes to work.

What is interesting you about Gorham? I know the Newport area, but I don't know Gorham, so I am intrigued.

Beyond computers, my favorite interests are Cycling, both MT and Road, and snowboarding. The White mountains have plenty of all 3. My wife and I brought our son to Story Land yesterday. This was my wifes first trip to the White Mountains and she just fell in love with it as soon as we got there. After Story Land, we went to Mt Washington. On the way home we went through Gorham. It seemed like a very nice town. Definitely a place that I would like my kids to grow up in.

Just checked realtor.com and the home prices are very reasonable.
From Newport, how long a drive and what route?

It is about a 3 hour trip each way, 6 hours total. To get to Story Land, I followed the Mapquest route from Newport to Rt. 16 in Glen NH. Basically I89 to I91 to I93 to US HWY 302 to Rt. 16. When we left Story Land, we just continued on Rt. 16 till we arrived at the Mt Washington Auto Road. After we left there, we just continued on Rt. 16 again and it brought us into Gorham. From there, I don't remember which way we drove. I have a TomTom, so I just relied on that to get me home.

Don't think you'll have too much luck with computer tech jobs up there, but you never know. The area is econimcally depressed...the paper mill in Berlin recently closed putting hundreds out of jobs. A new jail is supposidly being built up there that will help the job situation.
Good luck and hope it all works out for you!
