Recently moved to Newfields, so I'm near Exeter, Epping, Portsmouth, etc. Still in school so I have no insurance right now. Looking for an urgent care facility or walk-in clinic type place. Haven't been able to find any in the yellow pages or online. Help?
Walk-in clinics like they have in CVS & Wal-Marts are not allowed by law in NH. I don't agree with this law BTW. The best you can do is go to the emergency room of your local hospital. The Lakes Region Hospital has a walk-in clinic in Laconia, but it has certain hours. Good luck.
I've actually never seen a walk-in clinic in a CVS or Walmart etc. I've lived all over the east coast and don't recall seeing such a thing. What I was referring to are just regular urgent care practices, often in their own building or in strip malls?
Your local hospital may have one associated with it...Southern NH Med Center in Nashua does. There is also one near the Old Navy in Nashua....I know it's too far for you.

There are minute clinics in Massachusetts CVS stores & some walk-in clinics here & there. As I told you by law there are no free standing clinics in NH strip malls or set up in private builings......you need to go to the emergency room of your local hospital. That's why you can't find any clinics in the yellow pages or on-line. They don't exist in NH.
When I moved back to Southern NH to take care of an elderly family member, I called our health insurance company for the location of the nearest Clinic. We had these in Florida and they are fantastic: no wait, minimal costs, available 24/7.
I was told that there are NONE. Period.
Even my pets have a 24/7 clinic for their health needs, but any problem that cannot wait a week or more for an appointment with the family doctor has to go to the Emergency Room: the absolutely most insanely expensive way to dispense health care imaginable.
BTW, Exeter Hospital was one of the most expensive hospitals in NH the last time I looked, and NH has some of the most expensive hospitals in the Country. Not a good distinction.
Obamacare could have mandated these Clinics everywhere, and it would have had a huge effect to lower costs. Another opportunity "negotiated away" so that all that was left were the things that improved the profits of Insurance, Big Pharma, and Mega-Corporations. The consumer/taxpayer loses yet again.
