Default What's the deal with scoring a job in the Concord area?

We just came back from a visit to just outside Concord, NH and would like to move but I am confused about getting a job(my husband has been applying for jobs and interviewed for 2 last October but so far hasn't gotten any).

I see very few jobs in the paper and online. Those they do publish have poor wages. However, Concord is not a 'cheap' place to live. I noticed plenty of great shopping there, plenty of nice cars, and apartments for over $850 a month.

So, someone tell me, what's the deal? Do all these people commute for work, have 2 or more jobs or are they independently wealthy?

I have a teaching degree and would probably work part-time (raising a child now). My husband is a Shipping Manager here but wants (if possible) a change of career.

Okay, well if anyone can give me info I'd appreciate it. We really want to live up in NH so HELP!!!

Where is "here"? What "peninsula" are refering to?

I, too, have been looking. I have not actively placed any resumes yet, but I have noticed that the jobs are a bit scarce in my field as well. I'm confident that I'll find something, but I may have to choose a different line of work! I am also looking in the Manchester area as well to give myself more options. I don't mind a longer commute as long as the money is decent.

I have been looking on line in the local newspapers job classifieds for both Concord (Monitor) and the Manchester (Union Leader). They have the most listed.
