Thinking of moving to one of the New England states... advice?
Hello everyone,
I graduated college about a year ago, and have been working ever since. I am thinking it's about time to move on to another place. I currently live in Pennsylvania (and have my whole life). I like PA, but I just feel as if I want to move to a new place. I have been thinking about the New England states, something about the geographical location appeals greatly to me. My first thought was of moving to Maine, but after reading about the economy and taxes (not to mention job opportunities) I have been/am being dissuaded from that state.
I'm really looking for something relatively quiet; I don't want to live in a city. I am leaning towards a small town sort of atmosphere, but with my degree it's very hard to find a job in small towns. I would have to commute to a city no doubt. I have a B.S. in Biology, and hopefully soon will have a Masters. The New England states don’t seem to be a great place for people in the biological fields, but I'm sure there are some opportunities out there somewhere.
So basically, I'm asking for any feedback you can give me about New Hampshire. I don't really know much about the state or cities/towns. If you could provide me with the basic info that you would normally tell to someone planning or contemplating moving to New Hampshire I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any other advice you could give me on any other states would be greatly valued as well! Thanks a lot!
