the cop did his job exactly as prescribed - I don't think the driver should lose his license, but he definitely deserves the speeding ticket. He is trying to have it dismissed and the judge is not going to overturn it. He could have killed his wife and son if he had crashed. Then he would be facing charges of involuntary manslaughter instead of just a speeding ticket.

He could have crashed at 45 mph and killed his wife too, but he didn't. I think the state needs that g note for the good Govnor to spend. The cop had the discretion to let him off with a verbal warning, but that g note will pay that cop or another cop another week.
When I drive the local interstate at 80mph I get passed all the day long.

Whatever you think of this situation what stands out to me are 2 things: we have allowed government to fine us over one thousand dollars for a speeding ticket & we have allowed the "insurance industry" into our state houses & senates ( many reps & senators are insurance agents ) who then set up a system where if we get a ticket they can jack up our insurance rates for SIX YEARS ! That's a disgrace, and bespeaks of corruption.

Whatever happened to Common Sense? The guy panicked and took a risk. No one was hurt and everything turned out okay (thank providence). If he had hit someone, then he would have had to deal with it, but nothing bad happened and some of you sound like you wish it would have. So, why is this such a big deal that a Judge has to get involved? He was driving too fast, a Police Officer did his job by stopping the unsafe act and then by escorting them to the hospital. This should have been the end of story, however our country has become popuulated by a bunch of old ninnys who constantly complain and whine about how the other guy has to be stopped from doing things they either don't like or understand, or that someone somehow somewhere could be hurt. Really? We are living on a ball of dirt spinning wildly through the cosmos at 35,000 miles an hour and nobody is steering. Dangerous? I think universal sufferage is more dangerous. "Live Free or Die?" What a bunch of "Pansies".

OK Now for all who think the "Laws" are so important here and that all "LAW" should be followed. Then according to the "LAWS" he is innocent until proven guilty!. So now we have the cop issuing the citation ( Notice to Appear). Next so every one in within the law he is arraigned at which time he being innocent at that time can and should demand to see a verified complaint (pls. look up the legal definition of Verified complaint). That is the complaint by and ,constitutional requirement for the court to have jurisdiction to proceed against the accused. You see in the end,no Injured party, no crime that the courts can legally ( by their own "Laws") move forwarded on . And to do differently is a violation of your Right to due process under U.S. Title 42, 1983. While you have a right to your own opinion as to whether or not he did drive unsafely he didn't hit , kill or run anyone off the road. Know your rights and stand up for them before they are all gone .

100 in a 55 is not an offense that merits a verbal warning, the law is what it is and it applies to everyone. From this and your previous posts it seems you thinking is that anyone should be able to break any law they want if they feel a need to and not be held accountable.

His job is also to write a ticket to the individual, which he did.

Regular commuting traffic on most NH highways is in the 75-85 range. Most cars can easily travel at those speeds safely, if the driver is competent. Driving fast is not brain surgery. Ever here of the Autobahn?

Speed limits are arbitrary and usually designed to just trap people and tax them.

This guy did the right thing. Family first, don't wait for the government to save you.

The cop should resign in shame.
I agree with you. I would drive as fast as I could handle to keep my loved ones safe. I regularly drive 75 mph in my truck, up and down I93 and I'm passed by most.

The autobahn has rules and laws to make it safe for high speeds, the average moron on the road here can barely stay in his own lane at 35mph, very few Americans would be able to handle the autobahn.
You'd rather risk the death of your unborn child than speed to the hospital?

You must be an awesome dad.
