Too damn true. We have been taught to be frightened by TV news, our government and the schools. Frightened people can only react as, to quote from DUNE, "Fear is the mind killer.."

Fortunately I have known real fear ('Nam Riverine Forces 1968 to 1969) and a darkened street only makes me alert, mostly for drunk drivers, not frightened.
