Mapquest and your GPS can't tell you about real-world likely traffic experience, though.

I drove New London NH to Westbury LI/NY in 5.15 with 3 short stops on 2/24 -- left NH @ 3:30pm. Only a bit of slowdown in Springfield MA. On the reverse (3/1) the traffic gods were totally on my side and I made it in 4.4. I left from Syosset @ 11:30am and got home to New London @4pm, with 1 quick stop. No traffic at all -- did not tap the brakes even once.

I drive no more than 8-10 miles over the speed limit.

Thanks for the report!! I guess it all boils down to when you leave, and to some extent, your luck that someone hasn't jacked up the roads causing an accident and/or inclement weather.

Last time we were visiting NH, we caught traffic in both MA and CT, and then a little bit crossing the bridge onto LI. I was frustrated to say the least.

Living out west with higher speed limits and lower population densities has definitely done something to me. I need to re-adjust to the north east "mode" when we end up there.
