Good luck in your move. NH is certainly a different place than CA in a lot of ways.

yes sir it is,its a different world out here, its turning into a communist state,im an avid hunter and i like certain rifles and handguns and the restrictions here is to much, not to mention the laws on 18 wheelers...it use to cost alot for heating in new hampshire, but then again it cost alot here in the summer for a/c.air is dirty here, its turning into a cesspool here..ive had the fortune of living both places, and as i become older and wiser,id prefer the cleaner air and water and the simpler life style..california is not as glamorous as some may think..

20 years away is still going to be a very different experience for you. NH has made many changes since then. Better sit down and hold yer hat once you arrive back here.

Welcome back....

I don't like too much "change" either, but not too many places worth living haven't changed in the last 20 years.

I actually prefer a little change. Where my family is in Italy, the town is basically unchanged in hundreds of years. The economy is stagnant, most because of no growth and a communist government.

Changes have been vast in car regii fees, property taxes, rents, prices of realestate, a new whole near to like state police service, a total waste of money, as if we needed another kind of LEO service in the first place. Before this we already had more cops and more kinds of cops than most other states.

This is not a compliant about cops, but one about creating a whole new kind, with unifoms and cars 180 out of wack compared to state police uniforms and cars. Whats green one one uniform is tan on the other. See what I mean?

This is just one reason taxes are so high. Gov Lynch is a big spender...

In the last 20 years we are kinda over run with more wealthy folks who don't live here full time. Lk Winnie for example is surrounded with houses that at the cheapest cost 5 million bucks.

The town of Tuftonboro in 2004 built apx 78 new homes and they averaged 5 million bucks.

Caliwagg movie stars like whoopie,Tom Selec, Tom Cruise all have summer homes on the lake and assotered other tycoons, Marriot folks, how evr you spell that, too. That isn't a problem so much as it's been a trend. Bring in big money and drive up the taxes, is the problem, the Lk has changed too taking on National registration for boats, instead of state regii's. This changed the speeds boats can go and has turned the Lk into a mud hole, stirring up the bottom in what used to be nice places to swim.

Some towns like Belmont has installed no smoking laws for out doors in any part of the town, counting in your car. I don't live there, or know if that law in enforced, but it's the principle.

The principle is NH is getting to be PC. Some of it bothers me and some of it doesn't. However by design things are changing and there is loss of Freedom.

I am the hard core type, sayin so right up front. Which means I don't like these new changes most often, even if I don't mind them. One I don't don't mind is gay rights, but I am not gay, not even close to it. But I don't care what happens in private, or behind closed doors with 2 consenting adults.

I don't like the new school zoning, but don't mind the drug parts. I DO mind the anti gun parts however. I was hurt bad in 87' and will never be as I was. NH never had good workers comp and I was cheated by lawyers and Ins Co's of the surgery. The court told me to create work for myself.

I did as a living historical re-enactor, and took that idea to schools, camps, libraries, and old age homes. Some for free, some by paper contract. But then that changed because of the anti gun policy.

I made or built all of the above. The 1860 colt never went to a school, but the flinters did, and with other common trade items, that I don't have pictures of. I built that brass barrel flint pistol from shop scraps, it's no kit. I built the Nor West Gun from a rough kits.

This is one of my characters.

This is another.

If the PC have all their way history will have begun in around 1985, and I disagree with that idea.

The economy here is not what people think it is. That is a lot like any other state. In the first pic is Trade Silver, which I USED to make till real silver shot thru the roof, and I refuse to make the stuff in Nickel (German Silver), for the fact it didn't exist in Nickel untill after 1828, and then it was not accepted well for obvious reasons.

That isn't a NH problem exactly, but we are suffereing the same economy as all other states. NH ain't Mecca of the USA, like people think.

A lot of people who come here wan strip malls everywhere 'closer' to them.

North Conway is a prime example of Sodom and Gorrmora. It was a scenic little village 20+ years ago and now all it is is ugly.

This isn't all, but this post is very big, and for risks concerning I am taking over I will stop.

But you are still welcomed to come back. You seem to be the type that respects the NH life, and for that I welcome you back.
