Default Looking for vacation ideas in NH

If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it. Here is what we are looking for:

-a small town with a nice downtown district (cafes, bed and breakfast)
-very close to nature where we could take some extended, yet gentle hikes (wife is pregant, but loves to hike)

Anything around the white mountains has plenty of stop and park off the road to take a short hike to waterfalls and natures creations with the rocks. (franconia notch specifically) Check out COOS county online. You might find more specifics for towns and so forth with what your looking for.

Here's a few views. The FLume is really cool. It it located in Franconia Notch if i remember correctly. There is a wooden rail all throughout to make for an easy hike.
