off-season (late April) coastal rentals? (Portsmouth: places, kids, water)

Hi all,

I'm thinking about heading to the coast for a night or two with my 2 kids the last week of April. Usually when we go we rent for a week and a lot of the usual rentals I'd check out (vrbo, etc.) don't do nightly rentals even in the off-season.

I prefer waterfront or at least waterview -- cottage, etc. Does not need to be fancy or big.

Any ideas for places that will rent nightly? I'd prefer NH or southern-mid-coast Maine but am not having much luck. Do not want to stay in Portsmouth -- need something quieter. I cross-posted something similar on the MA board for Cape Cod rentals but no joy so far.
