I'm back for the third time since I left on May 14th.

I'm staying in the Conway area for a few days... is there any cool things I should see while I'm here (besides the Kanc, which I visit frequently). I'm not interested in shopping or city stuff, just outdoorsy stuff. I would like to go to Clark's to see the bears, but I have my dog with me and can't leave her in the cottage alone.

have you hiked around the Basin yet (Franconia Notch)? There's also Polar Caves & Lost River - no idea what their dog policies are.

If youre in Conway, Loki Clan Wolf Refuge isn't far away. Up over Hurricane Mtn. Road in Chatam. I'm pretty sure they allow visitors.I went there years ago.Neat place.

Wanna - thanks. I haven't been to either place, but will probably wait to check them out after the tourists are gone.

Ken - thank you for mentioning that! I've had that place bookmarked for 3 years and forgot it was near here. I'd love to see the wolves. My husband might be mad if I go without him though. Maybe I should wait until he gets here...

nah.

Well, the bears are trained and, according to the Refuge's website, at least some of the wolves are friendly.

I'd forgotten that the owner was a "save the wolves at all costs" kind of guy. He might not want visitors like me. I just want to see some wolves up close once, I don't really want them running around everywhere with Federal protection.
