To those pointing the finger, I ask: how many refugees have been placed in YOUR town? I know several people who've been affected by budget cuts (police, fire and teachers) and I'm sure many of you do too. The resources are just not there for yet more refugees. Perhaps though, your family would like to host a family or two, pay for their medical care, their food, clothing, etc. Education for them and their children, including translators.... I feel for them, but there's a limit on how much we can give.

Manchester is facing a financial shortfall. New Hampshire is facing a financial shortfall. Our nation is facing a financial shortfall. The POTUS has stated that social security checks might not go out in August if we don't raise the debt ceiling. What??? Our elderly, those on fixed incomes, those who were born during the Great Depression, those who worked their entire lives and paid into the system--THESE people might be denied their only source of income--while we are taking yet more 'refugees' from elsewhere?

Perhaps those who haven't personally been affected by the worsening economy believe that we should hold the door open to the poor, tired huddled masses, and once here, give them given a (free) place to live, (free) healthcare, (free) food, (free) cell phones, etc. Sadly, America v. 2011 just doesn't have the funds to take care of 'everyone' anymore. Does this realization makes me a 'hater' too?

And an American who just lost his job, had his unemployment cut, and is wondering how to feed the family and hold onto the house may not look kindly on a foreigner getting all types of aid... Is that person a 'hater' as well?
My point exactly! I don't hate anyone but the time has come to end the great give away - we simply can not afford it. This country needs to put it's priorities in order and start by taking care of it's own citizens first. Then help the rest of the world when you have the resources.

I had the opportunity to talk to a man who was from Isreal and he said after WWII 60% of everything that came off ships to poor and war ravaged nations across Europe and the middle east were stamped "made in the USA". This country was so productive that it provided for human needs across a large spectrum of the world. Now, he is a U.S. citizen and lamented we (his new country - and very proud of it) produce nothing as the U.S. corporations moved the manufacturing jobs overseas for cheap labor. That's not hating anyone - that's reality. If you need proof try buying a pair of Levis made in the USA or a pair of shoes made in the country that gives away so much that it forgot the needs of it's own people.

When I heard that I was completely dumbfounded. There are a lot of other places to cut. For instance, just a few days earlier "OUR?" president reassured Israel that their annual 10 Billion wasn't at risk. Neither was the aid that we give Egypt (almost 9 Billion), nor the military protection we grant to almost every country in the world. Last I read, our military spending is over half of the budget. In 2009 it was over 700 Billion! Annually! Do these numbers mean anything? As far as I am concerned, MY fellow Americans (in otherwords my family) come first. Personally, I don't give a damn about spreading democracy around the world, but I would like to try a little of it here at home. NH already has too many poor people, but these churches and other so called non-profits take OUR tax dollars and bring incompatible people into our cities and towns and then abandon them. Let the rest of the world take them in. The Oligarchy has ruled us long enough. The time for turning the other cheek and allowing strangers to come into this country to take, take, take has to end. Why do we give our children's blood and treasure to the entire world, but have none left over for our own people? Who benefits? Not me and not anyone I know.

I personally am sick of paying for not only illegal aliens but all the refugees that have been dumped on NH and the USA. No one has a right to come here-it amazes me people think that they do. I think this country has been more than generous and welcoming-in the last 40 years our population has increased over 100 million due to illegal aliens and legal immigrants-way too many people in only 40 years. We have enough of our citizens who our sucking tax payers dry via entitlements don't need to add more to the mix.
I came as a Refugee, I get support for 3 month as a kick start, when i start my work and i am paying taxes, like any American citizen. Do not talk about Refugees you never been in their shoes you dont know how difficulty they have seen.
About milking the sytem dont tell me several people who even born here milk the system.Lazy people are in every nation, country and world.

Okay, John...

Where did you come from? Why were you a refugee? What kind of job do you have? Do you live in NH?

Their wars or political unrest isn't my problem. Refugees who come here and take my fellow American's jobs, school slots and financial resources are my problem.

My roots go back to before America was a country. My ancestors helped make it one. What did your ancestors do?

Refugees in particular and immigrants in general are no longer needed in America. Not as long as there are Americans out of work or trying to get into College.

The Sahara desert is empty too...and I don't mind if you live there. NH is too broke to afford you.

You can help them somewhere else and with your own money. The Government's money is our money and should be spent on Americans who were born here.

I have an idea...maybe, the government should educate, train and put US to work. What a novel thought...a government by the people and for the people.

If wars or political unrest in the rest of the world isn't our problem, why are Americans getting killed in Afghanistan and Iraq?

You want to see some examples of that, come on up to the rural slum some of call home in northern New England, since you appear to be on the other side of the country.

Local business owners would consider themselves lucky to get refugees who can count to 20 without having to take off their shoes. As it is many place ads in the Boston newpapers to get employees since there is no one who is qualified for the few decent jobs offered. See you gotta be able to do a little math, think coherently and actually show up for work more or less on time. Too hard and too much trouble for "Americans."

Our government DOES offer free tuition to the local community college for single mothers. Time and again what I see happening is they make use of the opportunity to go to school (at MY expense) to find another guy to knock them up so they can keep the babies, welfare checks and WIC baskets coming. These "Americans" who are pros at getting on the dole and staying there. I'd rather see my money go to a refugee who appreciates the opportunies offered and makes use of them than a "fellow American" that I would just as soon spit on.

There is Different between illegal and legal migrants, Legal one they had to wait years before they been given homes. Illegal they just cross the border.with no proper screening.
This kind of illegal alian need to ship back to there countries on there own expenses not on my taxes.

Narrow minded redneck, hater, racist.. AH I love liberal, namby pamby bleeding hearts!

Ok, Being concerned about my state and the burden being placed on it doesm't make me a hater

Wanting countries to take care of the own people instead of pawing them off on us doesnt make me a racist

And expecting MY government to do the right thing and say NO MORE doesnt make me a narrow minded redneck..all it really does is make me logical.. We have gone to the well waaay too often, we cannot contain or care for the influx of refugees and illegal aliens any longer.. We are ONE nation, with our OWN people to care for..time other countries took care of their own, and if the cannot time for the citizens of those countries to grow a sack and change things in their OWN home land

I do realize that is a strange notion, but damn it has worked for thousands of years, until some idiots decided we needed to be the worlds nanny, we are not.

You may now continue spewing the hate that comes from having nothing to say apart from..oh you meanie.. it's ok I can take it, just give me a sec to send off that check to the food pantry ok?

Man some people really get upset when they read a bit of truth..crazy man..just crazy.
