I say keep it registered in MN. People here in MA are always looking for ways to beat the system and register their cars in NH. It's about time someone tries to do the same to NH!

You can't have tint on your front side windows? That is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. We bought a new truck when living in Texas and moved to Idaho. The truck came from the factory with the tint. The tint on the passenger and driver's side doors have never been a problem. The tint helps a lot in keeping the truck cooler. I wouldn't buy a truck with out tint now.

The link posted says sixty days is for the driver's license, not the registration/title.

Yup, super lame. And you can't be grandfathered in either. My tint level isnt even like 'gangster' tint or anything. Its legal in WA and MN and is just, like you said, to keep me cool during summer. Live free or die [untinted]!

The window tint is a tuff break, and if I were you I would leave it in place for now. Factory tint is legal and if yours is as light as you say it could be over looked. Don't mention it.

The rest of this info is right on. After laborday you will get busted.

NH isn't a free state, it's a Police State, and the cops are revenuers.

If you have 1996 or newer vehical it gets plugged in to the concord dmv with the OBD set up, and then it is pass/fail. The cost for this so-called inspection is outrageous, considering the state uses the type of road salts it does, and top coats the bad roads, not really doing the repairs corectly.

I have lived here most of my life and I love the state for it lands, and nature, but the BS policies that Concord has, I have never been fond of. That counts the DMV too.

Thats the problem here, because there is no income tax the state has to impose silly ways to generate revenue like the yearly inspection. We never had that in MN (Although we have some of the highest taxes) and its not like our winters werent salty-worthy.

I would love to leave my windows tinted as is, but they wont pass inspection. Or so the mechanic told me when I got my oil changed 2 months ago. Also apparently 2 of my tires have uneven wear (from driving coast to coast with a lot of weight) which wont pass inspection either. Because my car is AWD that means I pretty much have to replace all 4, which could cost close to $800; which is another reason to hold off on the inspection for my pocket book's sake. I need to save some money for that, moving sucked all my funds up (which wasnt much, as a 'poor starving college student').

Does anyone know what or where to find the timetables for car registration, drivers license and such switch over?

-edit: so its 60 days for the license it sounds like..

Go to another shop for your inspection, and maybe you will have better luck.

Un-even tread isn't a matter to fail, but not enough tread depth is.

Welcome to the New World Order you peasant.

I remember having vehicle inspection in Texas. It was 12.50 and a waste of 1/2 to 1 hour depending on how busy they were. You just went to any mechanic that had the inspection sign. All they did you check your lights and horn. It was a waste of the mechanic's and your time. They only had emissions in the big cities. That increased the cost for those people to 30-50 dollars.

There are no inspections in Idaho. Only a couple of counties by Boise have emissions. I know CT did away with their emissions for awhile because there was so much fraud. Emissions testing is a waste of time and money to. I don't need someone to tell me my lights are working. I can do that on my own. If you are running around with bad lights then you'll get pulled over and cited or warned.

I can recall NH St inspection as $0 .50 cents and I was an inspector then. The DMV has gone bonkers. I got out in 85' and then the fee was $5.00.

St Ins school is just a little more boring than death. Each time new upper managment took over, I got to go to the same school again.

The win win was to let the boring DMV officer say his piece, and ask no questions, but that never happened, always some studdmuffin would have to ask all sorts of things that not 30 minutes ago he was told were illegal

I have illegal tint on my windows and my mechanic never said anything about it. No cops have bothered me either, but then, it's only illegal by a few %. I figured if they ever pull me over for it, I'll peel it off then. We need to get that law changed though. Write to your reps.

I can understand the cops not wanting everyone driving around with limo tint though, since so many people carry in NH. But they could bump it up a few %. My windows were even legal in the socialist state of NY.
