Houses Are about the same in Price. And there property Taxes Are Not that much different than NH. Having Family there I can tell you that They are only a couple Hundred Different than NH. Check
Northern New England Real Estate Network - Official Website of the Northern New England MLS it will have Prices and Taxes Etc. In Alton Your Neighbors would be Educated and Friendly On a conservative side but not Bible thumpers. And for the most part accepting of you regardless as long as you don't force your views.
In Burlington Your Neighbors would be Very Liberal. Like Key your car If you have a republican Logo on it. Very Crunchy for the most part. Not all But alot. And Very friendly (as long as you share there views) Weather I answered. And as for shopping you have basically the same thing just alot smaller versions. Mall In Manchester
Mall of New Hampshire makes shopping easy and convenient. Favorite department stores Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, and Best Buy, anchor Mall of New Hampshire. The mall also offers 125 specialty stores, 4 full-service restaurants, and a 550-seat Food Court.
While the U Mall In Burlington Has 85 stores that include the Food Court and Anchor stores. It is the Largest Mall In VT by the way., Sorry I couldn't get more info on it like the Mall of NH but there site isn't the best. Anyway I hope this helps.
