2006 property tax rates
It's not current for 2007, but here is a list that I have of 2006 tax rates:
http://www.SNHhome.com/SNHhome_2006_TaxRates.pdf (broken link)
The important column is the TOTAL TAX (this is per thousand, thus a home valued at $300,000 with a 15.08 TOTAL TAX RATE will be taxed $4524 per year. (300 x 15.08)
Also NH's tax year runs a bit different than many other states. Payments are made in December and July, and cover the period 3 months forward/3 months back. Gets a little confusing when prorations are being made for taxes (who is being paid back for what... ) resulting in irate Buyers and Sellers until they are able to wrap their heads around it...
Anyway, hope you the list helpful.

You are calling your condo fee a tax? I own a condo in merrimack, and the taxes are broken down into home value and land value then combined. i am told that because there are only 4 of us in this condo complex the land is divided by 4 and we are taxed on that. I thought in owning a condo, you only own the the inside of your own unit. should we be taxed on on the land?

You most likely own the land in common with the 3 other condo owners, so yes, you'd pay tax on 1/4 of that land. This should be spelled out in your deed.

I used to own a piece of property on Lake Winnipesaukee - it had been in the family for generations going back to the 1920's. It was a very small lot on 1/3 acre with 300 feet of frontage on the water and just room for a cottage.
In the 70's the town changed the way it's taxed - the tax rate was not the same as the rest of the town, the property was taxed by the frontage or $100 per foot- resulting in taxes of $30K per year. Not affordable to the average family anymore. The property was sold for $200K - the taxes are currently $300 per foot or $90K per year. The view tax on top of that added an additional $250K in value and raised the taxes a few thousand more. The lakes have become the homes of the elite ONLY.

That's insane. What is the rationale for the view tax? Is it just a way to suck more $$ out of second home owners, or what? That seems so unfair.

Wow! What town?
The only two references I have are:
Alton with ~100 ft of water frontage selling for around $600k...and taxes were only $4800/year and there was a $9M place with taxes of $28k/year listed in Wolfesboro with 300 ft.

Umm... if this is true, somebody should have received a huge rebate check from the town. Right now, there is a 12 million dollar property in Gilford. An 11,000 s/f house with 300 feet of lake frontage. Nearly 3 acres. Taxes for 2008 were 31,067. Not chump change, but not 90K either...
Here's another, in Wolfboro: 2 houses on the 29 acre compound. A total of 14,480 square feet, with 2 boathouses, 3 docks, and 450 feet of lake frontage. Taxes are $87,317. This beauty is listed for $10,500,000.... sigh
