Cool winter rental

I am considering moving back to New England after a long (20 yr) absence - I am 57, female, single, no pets, responsible and a little ocd with cleaning I'd like to rent a small ( studio/eff) with heat in the Portsmouth area - or Hampton Beach etc as close to the water as possible since I've been land-locked for all this time !!!! I 'd like to rent Nov-May or thereabouts...I can afford 400-500 mo - am I being reasonable??? I just need a place to write/study and read - I would be a good caretaker and I'm a really great person - have ref.....dmc

Hello
I just did an MLS check in all the costal NH towns, and came up with several winter rentals under 1000 (sorry there was nothing under the $500 mark). I'll PM you the list.

Check out craigslist: new hampshire classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events and look at the housing section, you may have better luck finding a reasonable price.

There are a couple of real estate agencies that handle the majority of winter rentals. They don't "play nice" with outside agencies, but they would have the information you are looking for. They are PRESTON REAL ESTATE and Harris Real Estate, Hampton Beach, NH

Hope you can find what you're looking for

Default Winter on the beach

The time frame you mentioned sounds ideal for picking up a winter rental at the beach. Bear in mind, winter on the beach is from Columbus day to Easter and much more will become available as Columbus day approaches and prices will get cheaper as cold weather approaches. There is a "biting wind"[literally] across the beach in cold weather. Even so some beautiful days of 'Indian summer' are ahead in the off season. The disappearance of the crowds are quite enjoyable too.

note how old the OP is LOL - about a year or more old (can't remember at the moment). The PP Paula is just going around responding to posts to rent her place out.
