Default Shopping in West Lebanon

I see the major supermarkets are there and THAT'S IT for this area. Just how busy does it get with all the same folks shopping at the same stores? Are there good days to go and avoid the crowds?

Interesting... I have lived in that area but don't right now... anyway, where I live, I go shopping either the first hour they are open on Sat. or Sun. (although in NH they have more blue laws on Sun. I think) or I go late on a weeknight. The rest of the time it's really bad.

It gets really busy Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Alot of people come over from Vermont also because its so close. The traffic is really slow on the strip where the two Shaws and Price Chopper is and it takes forever to get anywere. It takes forever just to get out of the TJ Maxx plaza and the plaza where Shaws and the Liquor Store is I swear only lets 5 cars out at a time. The lines at Kohls are also extremely long on the weekends. If you can shop during the week (which I do now that I quit my job ) its much easier!

Is it "bad" compared to downtown Thetford? Sure. Is it bad compared to Burlington, or Manchester? Not even close.

No offense to other posters, we can certainly agree to disagree, but IMO traffic in WL is only "bad" if you aren't used to "real" traffic imo.

Yes, Sat & Sun afternoons can be busy, and around Christmas it is busy but other then that I don't find it bad at all.

Go commute from Nashua to Boston for a week and you'll BEG to sit in WL "traffic" for 10 minutes.

I try to avoid W. Leb when I'm down that way. I've actually found the traffic on that strip to be worse than what I deal with in Burlington! One time it took my 1/2 hour to go from Best Buy to the interstate. But Sporin, you're right. It's all relative!

Traffic--
I'm from Long Island (outside NYC) so we have amazing amounts of annoying traffic. Ever hear of the Long Island Expressway--it's called the world's biggest parking lot!!

Thanks for your replies

I have lived in Manchester and the traffic is bad but there are more choices to where you can shop not just one strip. Again, like WL if you travel in Manchester during the week instead of the weekend I did not find the traveling bad at all. It all depends what day you shop and what time.

I work around West Leb a lot. I go shopping mid morning during the week. Never really any crowds. Just go in, get what I need and check out.
