Default Great theater in a college town?

Hey newhampshirsters,
I am in earnest pursuit of a town/village in NH that has great regional theater in a cultural setting, preferably in a college town...like the Long Wharf in New Haven...serious theater..I am a writer and need to be in a town that ISNT about schools and kids and sports and snow acitivites. I don't need to throw a rock and hit walmart. A town where more happens inside of concert halls and galleries than up on the slopes. A town that doens't glean its revenue from erecting traffic cameras on overcrowded roads. Sleepy in all things other than culture.

And if you read this and follow me there, I'll pour honey and crazy glue on your lawn chair
Thanks! great site..great info.. NH peeps are the best..Ra!

The Barn Playhouse in New London is a pretty good place. New London is a college town with Colby-Sawyer College. New London is a small town and fairly remote near Lake Sunapee. No Walmart there. It's all I have!!

I can't speak from personal experience, but based on my research into NH towns, Peterborough sounds like it meets most of your requirements. Here's their website Peterborough, NH -- Welcome to Our Town's Web Site!
