Default Opinions on Derry public elementary schools

Hello,
We had planned on sending our kids to St. Thomas Aquinas here in Derry. Unfortunately, after a review of our finances, it doesn't seem feasible. It's very disappointing to me, but I need to roll with the punches, I suppose.

Now that we are going to be going with public education, I am wondering if there are any thoughts or opinions on the Derry elementary schools. Are they good? Do they enforce discipline? Are children given the resources to exceed? How much parental/family involvement is welcome?

Because our home school, Barka, is a "school in need of improvement" we would also have the choice of sending to East Derry Memorial or Derry Village. Any opinions/advice would be welcome.
