I've often heard people say the easiest cities/towns to meet new people in are big cities, because there are just so many people walking around.

So how is this experience in rural New Hampshire? For example an area like around Littleton, Whitefield, Woodstock, that area. Middle to Mid-north NH.

I like being out in the wilderness and I like nice and quiet, but I also like spending time with people and worry that there won't exactly be people around to spend time with!

Where are the types of places you would go to meet some cool people in a random, small New Hampshire area? Bars? Church? Help me out here.

Depends on how outgoing you are but yes, bars & church can be good. I'd also pick up a local newspaper and check for activites. Contra dancing is fairly popular in some places. I've found more than one girlfriend in a supermarket back when I was single.

Coffee shops and walking my dog. Voluntunteering is great but make sure that you aren't afraid to make the first move and smile.

Going by your name, I would suggest looking at meetup.com or join a hiking, bikiing, kayaking, or some other like-minded group. Although hiking can be a solo activity, I've always enjoyed many of these outdoor activities with a small group (people tend to splinter off with others of similar ability). Littleton has a great downtown, and a couple of restaurants with bars attached-no 'nightclubs'...

Aptor has a great idea (Hi Aptor, long time no read!) with volunteering--and I'm sure you have some skills that would be welcomed in a group effort. Whether at a soup kitchen, a community chile cook-off, help with yard work for elderly homeowners... there is always a need for more hands...

Like I said in another post, join and/or volunteer for the AMC! Lots of like minded people that share your interests.
