One report I heard early when it was happening (or had happened) during the stand off, was the guy had used something like an AK47. Maybe that is why so many got shot.

WHY would any civilian buy AP bullets?? That just makes no sense in my book. Maybe they would come in handy if our country ever gets invaded but what other reason could a person possibly have for having those types of bullets?

I would answer these questions, but the moderator enjoys flagging me, so I can do it in a DM.

(and you can't buy new 7.62x39 AP ammo for an AK any more)

Police body armor is designed to stand up to pistol shots, not rifle. From what I have heard, the perp had a .223 rifle.

Ain't that the truth! Nefarious motives come to my mind first. I'm either cynical or smart.

Geez, please, people, learn the facts.
Level III body armor will take 6 shots of 7.62x51 (i.e. something from an M60), and level IV will take a shot from a 30.06 AP round.

I am starting to think that 'CD' stands for 'Chronic Disinformation'

I understand the 2nd Amendment just fine. Our founding fathers also had no idea of what was to come in the future.

There is NO earthly reason for a civilian to own AP or any of the bad a$$ bullets. None whatsoever. MHO. Civilians only need 22 or 38's for personal protection. IMO. That's enough to stop a would be burgler.

I'm sure you could Google your NH tv stations or newspapers to get the same info as anybody else has.
