We did we ever get rain on Saturday evening into night!
Between down pours some of the younger skinners used a large puddle before the rain, which grew much larger to take a bath
My bride got pics of that.
We also had some high winds which the combo of rain and wind did cause a few camps to break up and leave early.
My camp was fine but the wind broke 3 of my poles that were not replaced last year. These were apx 16 years old and are stored out doors all the time. Also these just keep canvass from sagging and are not anything serious. I should have replaced all 6 of these keeper poles last year when i replace all the other 11.
In the lodge pic you can just make out 2 of the tops of these at the smoke opening on the far right, and couple inches can be made out sticking up thru the opening.
We just got in after dark Monday night, so no pics are up yet.
Other wise the weather was hot and sticky, in day time till after that rain.
140 camps this time and the hope is for more. 5 camps that were not counted were pre registered.
Of note this time was that it was the very first time kiln dried fire wood was made available.
I bring my own, but I grabbed one hunk of cherry to use for salt horn ends and maybe knife grips if i decide to make blades again.
