399083453, I always pay with cash, and I too put money aside every month so it is there when I need it. I have already talked about cost issues with oil ... now we are talking about inserts in the fireplace. But thanks for replying!

Our house has two connected 320-gallon oil tanks, for a total of 640 gallons. We have never used more than 3/4 of that amount (usually less) in a full year. I always fill them up in the summer, when oil is (usually) a bit cheaper. I get a discount for paying cash. Our house is 1800sf with a full basement that has about 700 finished square feet. It's a newer house with good windows and insulation, and I do keep the thermostat fairly low in the winter. This past winter was pretty mild. When I filled the tanks this past summer, I only paid $930. I think that's pretty darned cheap for heat and hot water for a full year. It's less expensive than the natural gas bill we had in Colorado. You might do better with your two tanks than you think.
