I'm contemplating a move to NH from NC because our economy still isn't doing so well. I've read that the unemployment rate is relatively low in N.H. and I would just like some feedback from the locals (any city) as to whether or not there seems to be jobs available.

I ask because I know that statistics can occasionally leave an unclear or inaccurate perspective.

Depends what you're looking for I guess. My husband and I couldn't find much and we're in culinary arts and law enforcement. A lot of NH employees locals/familes/friends in the smaller towns and once people have jobs they hang on to them for a long time. My husband was a police officer and wanted K9 and was looking at 8-9 year wait till someone retired. The bigger cities will give you more options depending on what field you are in

Go back to college and get your teaching credentials.
Then get a Masters Degree in business.
You can just about write your own ticket then.

If not, seeking jobs. You go to where the jobs are.

Fargo, North Dakota.

If you are heathy and do not have any drug/alcohol issues then join the United States Air Force and become an officer. Steady employment. And see the world for free.

NH is full of retired people and the self-employed. the unemployment numbers are misleading. There are jobs available, but there are lots of applicants for each and every position.
