Does anyone know why this school doesn't have a football team? Wanting to move to Durham but kids need a high school with a football team.

Small school (700 students) and very limited field space. Great diversity of other sports. Check out the web link http://staff.orcsd.org/shared/hs-athletics/ . Excellent academics and an agreement with the university (UNH) allow qualified seniors to take courses there at no charge. Strong academics & great teachers make the lack of a football team seem a little less important.

there are a lot of high schools without football - money is the biggest reason. My high school didn't have a football team. We did have soccer though.


Oyster River - isn't that where Pam Smart was a teacher?

Pam Smart worked at Winnacunnet High in Hampton.

Greg and Pam lived in Derry at Summerhill condos. A couple years ago, I sold a condo in the same building that they lived in

Default Football is not a religion here

unlike the south Football is not a religion here. UNH has college ball, I guess they feel like thats enough.
