My wife and I are weighing all possible options for our move back to the Northeast from Florida. We are former lifelong Connecticut residents. We are fortunate to have several options for my wife's job transfer, and the leading candidate is looking like Northampton Mass. My only problem is I really don't want to live in Mass. There are several reasons, but I could save that for another forum. I had, and still have, relatives in Richmond. Spent a lot of time there over the years, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling. Had always liked the area. Curious to see if anyone makes that commute on a daily basis. How good or bad is it from NH border towns to that area of Mass?

I'm a couple of towns east of Winchester. The CT river is great for fishing. There are a lot of snowmobile trails in the area and hunting isn't bad either.

Looks like a I 91 commute. I've only driven it on my way to a hunting club in MA on the weekends. I can't imagine it would be a bad drive, hopefully someone with weekday experience will chime in.

Hope your move goes well, and I hope you ice fish.

I'm hoping it's not to bad. I've passed Northampton many times on my way back and forth to NH but never thought about it as a daily drive. Ice fishing, hunting (especially being able to hunt on Sunday), snowmobiling, are the reasons I want to go to NH. Can't wait to take my 2 sons ice fishing as they have never been since we moved to FLA before they were walking. To me, there is nothing more relaxing than putting on a pair of waders and standing in the middle of a stream trout fishing. I can't wait!
