I am looking for a small vacation home. A small cabin, camp or even a condo. Best towns to look into? I would like something on a lake, a town with shops restaurants, ect....

Thanks!

Perhaps Meredith or Meredith Center.....I am sure there are hundreds of such towns....but Meredith Center is pretty rural and Meredith has everything else you are looking for.

Try any number of realty sites. There are literally a hundred towns that fit your criteria except for being on a lake. Pick the surrounding environment. What time of year will you be Vacating? What do you like to do? Hiking? Skiing? Snowmobiling? All are available somewhere in NH. Not to mention Maine or Vermont or Massachusetts.

FWIW - lakeshore property is generally very expensive and highly taxed.

What size lake are you looking for, and what are you looking to do once you're there? Fishing & relaxing? Canoeing or kayaking, or sailing? There are many good size lakes that will support motor boating, but limited public ramps for the public to put their own boats into the water...

A tad more information might help.
