Moving back to NH...Nashua area or seacoast?
Hello!! Im looking for some opinions on a good area for a single girl in her early 30's to move back to NH from AZ. I am used to living in a large city so I dont want to live in the boondocks. I am originally from Manchester and dont wish to live there again. I am looking for a different area of NH to explore that will have a decent quality of life for singles. Any positive input will be appreciated!

Hands down Nashua
Good morning RedSox Nation,
CNNMoney dot com ranked Nashua out of 100 places for singles to live at #87It's definitely hands down got more for singles to do than the seacoast of NH.
I'm on the seacoast and trust me, it's geared for married people and families here and there's NO doubt about it, it's obvious. Oh, it's all well and good but it gets old and it's extremely boring when you're single. I can name you SO many that moved from here because they had it right up to their necks living here, they were so bored.
Employment opportunities would be better in Nashua for you, entertainment would be much better. The average age believe it or not is 36 of the residence living in Nashua. I know for a fact they have beautiful apartment complexes in Nashua and a lot of them are geared for singles. You name it, it's in Nashua. All around you'd be better off living in Nashua, especially being single, take it from me!

Nashua is frequently rated as one of the best cities in the nation in which to live. It's a good-sized town very close to both Boston and Portland.
What didn't you like about Manchester?

Thanks City girl!!
You confirm what I already thought! I noticed Nashua has many decent apts to choose from and more shopping and restaurants! My brother lives in Portsmouth and he thinks it is nicer & safer to live in the seacoast. I am moving from Phoenix AZ so Im sure Nashua has nothing in crime compared to what im used to. I lived in Portsmouth for one summer after college and I was quickly bored with the area. I will be moving back before Christmas and will definitely go to Nashua first!
Thanks again!

Hi Mark,
Thats a good question. I guess I dislike Manchester because I grew up there and I prefer to be in a new area. I was happy to get outta there once I was at college and continued to move around the state and eventually found myself in AZ. I can now appreciate NH after being away and look forward to moving back soon. I have to admit Manchester has alot more things to do compared to when I grew up 30 yrs ago. There is finally the Verizon center and lots of sporting events. What do you LOVE about Manchester? If I put my past aside I may learn to love it also.
Cheers!

Oh, I've never been there. Your comment just made me curious is all. We are considering a possible move to NH (as well as a few other states), but Manchester is really a bit bigger than we're wanting. I seem to have the opposite of your wants. I want to get out of the big city and back into the quiet.
Best of luck on your move!

Have you considered Derry. There's alot to do here and it's a great community-only 10-15 minutes to Manchester----I've been told Nashua is kind of like Yuppyville

Good Idea RedSoxNation,
I live in Manchester but lived in Nashua, Derry, Milford, Hudson, Litchfield, Hooksett so those towns I definitely know the pros and cons for singles and families. I have a family now but was single once !
My picks would be Manchester or Nashua, more things to do. I was very bored in Derry, Milford and Litchfield as a Single Women. I like to go to fine dining and casual dining...tapas or sushi are my favs....that's why those towns bored me, they didn't have enough diversity for my taste.
Staying with family first is excellent. If you need help just give me a call, I know of lots apt. complexes, if that's what you're looking for. My info is in my bio.
Ty
P.S. Check out MYPN.org it's in Manchester and a great place to network and make new friends! (Manchester Young Professionals Network) I don't have time to go anymore but it was fun when I did.
