Come on, NOT All people from Seacoast area are "wonderful". The way I look at it is, there are alot of "wonderful" and alot of "disrespectful" people ALL with attitudes over the Seacoast, Boston, New England....the world! There are alot of factors; how you're brought up; type of enviroment you're in; habits; work; etc. To me this is what makes up that persons character. I lived in MA. for 30yrs, and now NH for the past 15. I run into people everyday from (I'm sure you all do) both states and others and I can tell you that no one is better than the other.
You get the ones that "wave" to you or give you the "finger". Then you look at their plate and they're from MA. (or NH). Oh my, those people from MA. (or NH) are really "mean" you say. Or you get cut off on the road, store, parking spot. What is the first thing you do.......you look at their plate to see where they are from. Now they (and the rest of the state) are labeled just because they did something that offended you. When you really get down to it, We are All just a "bag of A-holes".
When I say "you", I do not mean You inparticular. I mean Everyone.
MAYBE I misunderstood the OP, and I'm just venting so I ended up giving my opinion.
ALL the above is my opinion or suggestions and NOT meant to offend anyone.
(oh, and I AM a nice person that would wave lol)

I will agree with the whole license plate thing.. I soo look at the plate of someone that did something stupid or cut me off or whatever.. You know who are the worst .. New Yorkers!! And I'm allowed to say that cause I'm from there.. I will drive on the Mass pike ANYDAY over the Jersey and through the NYC.. Oh dear god!! I mean I'm all for keepin up with traffic.. But the limit is 55, I'm going 80 and STILL getting passed phew.. thats a little too hardcore for me. Besides I've got 2 speeding tickets and learned my lesson (after the second one) in Fla... People from Mass, NH and all other NE states are pretty much the same as everywhere else. We had wicked nice and wicked nasty people in Florida.. Same here. When we went to the red sox rally my husband was hugging and being hugged and partying with people we didn't even know! Then at Cheers a couple sat next to us and started showing us their pictures of the rally.. we talked over our entire lunch.. They were from the Cape.. So it all depends.. I just happen to get the very straight foward family.. That I totally love btw

I've only been back to NH maybe 2 months and so far I've met a Brazillian, someone from CT who's just waiting to retire to return, a floridian, and a NH born and raised man who says the F word at work maybe 5 times per hour. LOL
I haven't met anyone who admitted they were from Boston, everyone up here talks with a thick accent to me; but I do know until I get my license plate changed over, I will have tailgating. Also after I change it I will still have tailgating, because no matter where I am in the region, someone is in an awful hurry. I'm just not in a hurry to drive a huge truck around these steep curves at 90 MPH, k thx. LOL
The crazy driving is my only complaint so far. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful around the office and they are curious about why we moved here. They will even ask it two or three times, not sure what they are wanting to hear, but they ask it all the time over and over LOL. People have been great here so far.

My parents were Texans, born and bred. In the early 70s my Father became involved in a business that meant our family had to move to the area just outside Boston, about 50 miles inland.
There are no two places MORE different then Boston and Dallas. Of course they were a little stand offish at first but over the time we lived there we found that they warm up and in fact this many years later, I am still good friends with the people I went to grade school with. The people I went to high school with in Texas, not so much.

Oh my gosh! I had the exact same experience, Lindsey_Mcfarren, with Texans. My assessment is that Texans are basically all show people (and no go) who "act" as if they care, but don't. One of the reasons I don't want to go back. 22 years there...and I feel as if it was time wasted in so many ways. It will be nice to live among sincere people for a change.
Texas is a boom and bust economy, and is on a high right now. It will bust again. Trust me. This has been going on for years and years.
