Default No NH for us :-(

I am so bummed. I posted here some over the summer about our desire to relocate to your beautiful state from Austin, but it isn't gonna hapeen for us anytime soon (Valerie C. was nice and helpful) We are going to pack up, sell the house and move to Ft. Worth, TX (Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex) this summer. My husband and I will see a total raise of about 9k per year with him teaching full time and me teaching part time, and we will be an hour-and-a-half from family (good and bad!). We are also going to be able to rent a nice 2/1 craftsmen in the artsy neighborhood near downtown for $850 a month. Not too shabby, but I had my heart set on Portsmouth and getting my master's at UNH. I have to keep telling myself it wouldn't have been smart financially. Perhaps in a few years after we have paid off some debt from me staying at home with out little one we will get to realize our New England dreams. We are only 24 and 27, so there is hope!

Enjoy your fall. We don't seem to have that season in TX!

Well you don't want to move there in the middle of winter anyways if that makes you feel any better. I've been in FL 14 years and heading back next summer. Can't wait. My family is up there. I'm the only one who moved away from everyone when i was young and adventurous. Well, i'm still young only 32 but something with age makes you want to be closer to the family. Teaching jobs are always needed everywhere and i believe NH pays pretty well for teachers so someday maybe you'll get there.
