Someone in another post said that commuting from Nashua to Harvard (about 50 miles?) is difficult. I'd appreciate input on whether a weekly commute is manageable, especially in the winter. Do the roads get cleared? Is parking in the Harvard/Cambridge area a problem? The poster did not indicate what the conditions are that make commuting difficult. Thanks!

It depends what time of day you are traveling. And parking in Cambridge will be expensive.

Thanks miu. Mostly I would be commuting evenings and weekends, starting from and returning to Nashua.

Route 3 to 128 - or - Route 93.
Both about an hour with zero traffic and zero construction.
Route 93 avoids Route 128.

A safe time depending on where you live in relation to highways - 1:15 minutes.
If you are punching a time clock then allow 1:30 minutes.

Both/all highways seem to have some construction every year. Rebuilding bridges, guard rails, and paving seem a constant.

It's doable, although not pleasant. I know people who live in your area and commute every day to work at MIT.

Weekends- an hour...no problem.
Evenings- define evening. If you're getting there before rush hour- fine. If you're leaving after rush hour- fine. If you're leaving at rush hour Route 3 will be fine but 128/95 will be bleh

I live in the Nashua area and would consider the "right" job in Cambridge- not a great commute but not like DC or LA or anything (rush hour). Evenings/Weekends could make it a lot more doable...
