Hello. Can anyone please tell me if Exeter or Dover has Section 8, low-income, or other subsidized housing/apartments, or where I can look online to find this information? (I'm not talking about mobile-/mfg.-home parks/communities; those are easy to find.) I'm not looking to rent such a place; I'm just trying to find out if they exist, and if so, where.

Thank you!

Contact/call the town clerk of each town and ask. Most towns have a dedicated employee - usually part time - to help people with inquiries such as yours.

I do know they exist in Dover, but I don't know what you mean if not apartments, communities. Houses are harder to find. Look in fosters, check with realtors, the town, the chamber of commerce, churches etc. Just remember if you don't already have section 8, there will be a lengthy wait for it to be approved

Thank you both for the suggestions. We're considering moving to one of these towns, and would like to know as much info as we can before we do. We do spend time in both towns, and know that some areas are "better" than others...

We are not looking for sec 8/subsidized housing, but want to know whether it does exist and where because in the past (and in another state) we've had some bad experiences living in near such housing (no offense intended -- it is just our experience), and we'd like to avoid making the same mistake again by researching the issue to the extent we can.

Thanks again.
