Default Manchester, NH- info please

Hello everyone!
We are thinking about moving to Manchester, NH. Are schools good there? Is it safe? Are there sidewalks in neighborhoods? Parks? recreational areas? How bad are blizzards? What do you like and don't like about this town?
Thank you so much,
Natalia

I work in Manchester and the crime is getting worse by the day--this morning an officer was shot and very critically injured. Violent crime has gone up 10 fold--do yourself a favor and look into surrounding towns instead ie: Goffstown-Derry-Hooksett-Londonderry---------these towns sre nice--Derry has a great school system. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Is the situation that serious? What causes the increase of violence? Is anybody trying to stop it?
Thank you,
Natasha

Is it just one or two sections of the city or the whole city is dangerous at night? How often do shootings and other acts of violence happen?

The Manchester cop that died by a gunshot wound is the first death of a Manchester policeman in 30 years. Any city is going to have crime in the "bad" parts of town. You have to learn where those areas are and stay away! NH is a very safe place to live.

Default Mancheser has some very nice parts

Hi, Like redsox nation said, every city has its bad parts. I have family all over New England from New Jersey to Brooklyn, NY and Hartford, CT to Boston.
I have seen alot of bad things happening in lots of cities before I moved here to NH. I do not plan on moving again....I really like it here. I've been here for almost 14 years now and love it!

Manchester itself, has become more diverse. The Historic North End is beautiful (i live there) and the South and East sides are good too.

The shooting happened close to downtown. Yes, they did capture the shooter too.

The surrounding towns of Manchester are all also good. I'm a realtor and I have maps if you need any sent to you.

Good Luck!
Ty
