Makes a good story - just like the Boston chickens at the marathon. There were video clips of people on the roofs at the marathon too. That official story has more holes in it than a colander.

IMO, this is just one more event where it's become normal to see cops in gear with assault rifles. It's NOT normal. It's frightening and disgusting.

So what were they going to do if a pumpkin blew up?
Shoot into the crowd?

If the event has become so dangerous that snipers are needed for crowd control, then the event needs to be cancelled.

end of story.

from the article:

Unless Americans want their towns patrolled by armored military vehicles, their skies humming with drones, and their local police officers equipped with assault weapons, they should encourage Congress to scale the program back promptly.

It appears that the local law enforcement is being beefed up to attack it's citizens.

We need to be more vocal. We don't want this. We don't need this.

Yah the free staters, ready to protest some stupid cause or another there. Maybe they were ready to riot the harm and destruction of innocent pumpkins.

Perhaps it was free staters that were armed and on the rooftops? That's one explanation that's been thrown around. The Keene PD said they were police officers, but would not state who hired them or who they were.

That's a real knee slapper. Do you also have any snappy comments to make about the bombings at the Boston marathon?

It was Keene PD. The received a bomb threat prior to the Festival starting. Instead of making an announcement and putting the sheep in a panic they posted "Snipers" in various locations. The hospital had extra staff on hand to handle casualties as well.

ok - a viable excuse. Where did you find that info? Lt. Steven Tenney of the Keene Police Department told Garret Ean of Keene Peaceful Streets that the men identified in the photos are members of unspecified law enforcement agencies. The National Guard was also contacted and referred people to the Keene PD.

Where's the media? People should be aware that a bomb threat was made. They should have the choice as to whether to attend a possible disaster or shooting.

"Scare the sheeple" - as you put it. Darn right! Don't go if you value your family's lives!
