I just moved into my current home in 2004 and we are much more north than we were in Derry. The first thing I learned upon moving in was about "the lesbians" that live two doors down. I've never met them personally but evidently the whole neighborhood knows their sexual preference.

Again, nobody is outright discriminating, they just refer to them as 'the girls' and leave them alone. In NH, nobody is in your face if they can help it.

I must respond and clarify here that a rainbow sticker doesn't just resemble that the person with the rainbow is gay, but more of an open friendly statement that those who like the same sex are welcome ... whether it's your car or your home, or whether one likes the same sex or the opposite. For me, for one it's my belief, and secondly it's nothing more than a statement saying I am not going to judge you by who you like or don't like. Judging a person by a sticker is like judging a book by it's cover. If you don't ever open up that book because you don't like the cover, you aren't even giving that book a chance.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, but at the same time trust your instincts.

More often than not a good book has a good cover.
