Looking for recommendations for a home builder that would build a custom home in Barrington (Dover/Rochester area). I'm particularly looking for someone that can build an energy efficient home using new or old-school technology and building methods. So I'm not looking for a bare bones, code-minimum starter/tract home builder.

I have a couple of builders I've been working with who will bid on the project. One is a home designer that also can act as a project manager and has his own network of contractors. The other is an energy efficient builder who I've been following for a few years. I trust them both, but would like some other options also.

Would love to get some first hand recommendations of people you've worked with to build a house. So much better than just picking contractors randomly.

Don't post replies directly with names/companies, as I believe that's against the Citydata terms of service. Please DM me if you have someone. Thanks!

Can't recommend a "stick-built" contractor in your area, but you may want to check out modular home builders. You'd be surprised at the wide variety of designs available and the biggest advantage is that the whole project can be completed in only a couple of months. See Welcome to Dale's Homes - Custom Modular Homes - Vermont.

Hi,
this thread mentions a few in that area. Most reputable/quality home builders in NH?

I will PM you as well. I had no luck with responses related to the Sunapee area though.
Best of luck!
