where you from? Born: Banff, Alberta ... moved a few times up there; Rockies of MT ... moved a few times within the western part of that state; then we came east in highschool to Stamford, NY; went to college in Saranac Lake; and am currently living in Gorham, NY. Soon to move again to Northernish NH!!! My family's never been the settling type.
do you like NH? Was that a question!!!?
are you a native? Uh, no
what gets your goat about NH? Nothing ... I have no goats
what you like best about NH? Mountains, skiing in the mountains, hiking in the mountains, solitude in the mountains, the people and activities are amazing ... love it all!
what you do, where you live, any kids, favourite sports team, favourite sport, hobbies, where you would hate to live, worst place you ever lived, best film(movie) basically anything for a chit chat? I have been married for 9 years and if all goes well, we will be celebrating #10 in NH, we have twin girls; I have an architecture degree; job 1: CADD Detailer in the woodworking business, job 2: photographer (I'd give my website, but don't think I'm allowed), job 3: ski race coach. The worse place I've ever lived was Jamestown, NY ; TV?: It's a box that has one purpose and that is to brainwash people, especially kids, into wanting things they really don't need! I do enjoy watching documentaries and movies that are based on true stories. The most recent movie I watched was Fly Boys ... really good.

Your right but more people will know what your talking about if you stick to the old fashion vocabulary. I don't work for a company online though. I type for a local Rehabilitation company here in FL who has 12 clinics but it is all transferred by internet so when i move back to NH my job will be coming with me.
By the way, i guess i didn't understand the question of "what gets your goat of NH". i thought it meant a good thing. Well .... i happen to like goats so that's why i put down the 4 seasons and my family. Haha. Kind of funny in a way if my family got my goat.

Danielle - That's what made it nice when we moved - I brought my job with me - hubby had to find another one, but I can work anywhere, as long as there is high-speed internet!
LOL about the "get your goat" - I knew the phrase as my family always used it...I wonder where that phrase got it's origin.......

I agree. I love having such a portable job. My husband has 2 job offers when we get back. They are waiting for him and said they will move someone over to make room for him. He just recieved his automotive technician World Class GM achievement award this year so they both really want to get him in their dealership. There's only 1500 people in the country who have achieved that award so it's quite an achievement. So as long as people keep bringing in the cars to get worked on, we'll do alright.

where you from, ? I currently live in Laconia NH-just escaped from Concord-Thank God!
do you like NH? Yes
are you a native?No-born and raised at the Jersey shore.
what gets your goat about NH?People up here think if they are making a left turn that they have the right of way! What is wrong with these people. This happens almost daily to me, my husband and others. If I am going straight or making a right- I have the right of way!
what you like best about NH ? Open space, independent spirit. A lot of things that I like are starting to change and I hope that reverses itself in the next election.
what you do, where you live, any kids, favourite sports team, favourite sport, hobbies, where you would hate to live, worst place you ever lived, best film(movie) basically anything for a chit chat?
I have no kids- a hubby and a crazy cat. My favorite sports teams are the NY Yankees and the Philadelphia Flyers. My favorite football team is the Redskins(much to my father's dismay) but I am married to a die hard Packer fan and I love Brett Favre. He is a real man and a real quarteback-not many of them out there these days! My father-in-law's hs football coach was Vince Lombardi-that is how someone from NJ becomes a Packer's fan.
Worse place I ever lived was Concord. My hobbies include politics, current events, running and weightlifting, genealogy, watching football, baseball and hockey and going to many sporting events., hiking.
My favorite movies are older ones. I absolutely love Slapshot-could watch that a million times. Also Animal House and Fast Times at Ridegemont High. I also love to watch the Civil War movies made by Ron Maxwell who is a hero of mine for staying true to himself even while surronded by the hollywood commies. He is one of the true patriots in hollywood today.

where you from, ? Long Island, NY
do you like NH? I hope so since I will be moving there in 3 weeks!
are you a native? nope
what gets your goat about NH? So far nothing, but what WORRIES me is getting in a car accident with the snow and moose.
what you like best about NH ? The friendly people, snow, foliage, houses with land, small town new england feel, outlets in North Conway....
what you do- I am a teacher and my husband got his degree in automotive management, though he has been a microscope tech for the past 3 years. So if anyone knows of any jobs for him, lol.
where you live- Littleton
any kids- Not yet, too young.
favourite sports team- I don't have favorite teams but I enjoy going to a Mets game and watching football.
favourite sport- Baseball
hobbies- Cooking, reading, going online, love tv, music, spending time with hubby.
where you would hate to live- Anywhere that is hot all year round so-anywhere down south.
worst place you ever lived- I've only lived on Long Island, though I don't HATE it, I don't love it either. Too much traffic, crime, drugs, too expensive.
Best movie - Anything romantic or christmasy. The Notebook, Home Alone, lol.

BOO!! We got married 10-26-02, and our "honeymoon" consisted of handing out sweets to the kiddies on Halloween. Mike bought me this little ghost in converse sneakers that wiggled and shouted, "BOO! Did I scare you? hee hee hee" it giggles like a little kid under the black sheet. Motion activated, so I heard all night, "BOO!!" in this little kid voice.
That night, I went around the house chasing my newlywedded husband tickling him yelling "Boo!" cuz I was driven nutz by this toy, and wanted him to enjoy the same pleasure. So Now when I say Boo, he responds with "TWEET!" meaning, "the ghost is booing, so get the sweets, the treaters are here." Ever since, we have been BOO & Tweet. We even sign our nick names on our Xmas presents to each other.
So you are my new BOO!!!!!
Woot!!

NH threads greetings RV
Where you from,?
Lots of places. Childhood just west of Albany, NY, became an old man in ‘Nam, existed for a while in NYC, lived in Londonderry, NH for last 25 years
Do you like NH?
Mostly I do like NH. I liked L’derry much more when it was way less crowded.
Are you a native?
Nope – ancestors were British and German
What gets your goat about NH?
Refusal to realize we are in the early 21st century and politics suitable for the early 18th century are no longer working.
What you like best about NH?
Lots of real countryside left. Most of it has not been Californicated.
What you do?
Environmental scientist currently specializing in Air Quality but have worked with water resources and energy projects
Where you live.
Londonderry, NH
Any kids?
Married for 39 years to same woman, no children, house dominated by really large Maine Coon Cat.
Favorite sport and team,
I like to watch auto racing and have participated in Maine forest rally a couple of times. Plan on getting a motorcycle next summer and using it for some video work.
Hobbies?
Politics, wood and metalworking, getting into video production (Annie’s thing), reading, commenting on stuff on this board
Retirement?
Would like to start, or become involved with, a business providing integrated alternate energy (solar, water, combined heat and power) systems for individual, condominium and smaller industry. I could do the technical but I would really need somebody to run the business. Also considering making a series of Videos of “Favorer Drives in NH” or anywhere else.
Where you would hate to live?
Any big city in the south (or anywhere else) like Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, etc. Want to retire to a small town in New Mexico. I really don’t like to be crowded. Too many people make me very nervous (ah, the wonders of PTSD – except I don’t consider it a disorder any more, I just consider it normal)
Worst place you ever lived?
On a Navy ship off the Mekong Delta, RSV. As a civilian I would have to say NYC. The place was turning me into a “New Yorker” and I could never get away from the crowds.
Best film (movie)?
I haven’t gone to a movie in ages except "Harry Potter" at an I-MaX in Hooksett. Currently TV fan of new Battlestar Galactica. We watch “How its Made” nearly every night because news just gets me way too upset.
Basically anything for a chit chat?
Anything you want to talk about.
Lots of questions and long answer.
