LOL Voltaire, you're on for those drinks! Have you tried the Private Stock?

Log homes... I don't live in one, but some are just beautiful. They're found throughout the state, especially in the woodsier areas. Oh and out of the 228 log homes for sale in NH right now, there is ONE that's listed with the Bean Group. Their website is designed to make it appear that ALL the listings in NH are theirs Somewhat misleading to the public, but it's all about making the phone ring... Whatever it takes I guess.

Hello fellow New Hampshirites!

where you from, ?
I grew up in Mansfield, MA until age 10, then moved to Bristol, NH.

do you like NH? I love it!

are you a native?
I guess I don't qualify as a native New Hampshirite, but I'm definitely a native New Englander.

what gets your goat about NH? The long winters can drag on, but I think that a trip to a warmer climate in February or March probably helps.

what you like best about NH ? The beautiful four seasons (especially fall), scenery and nature, the old towns and villages, winding country roads, the libertarian philosophy, etc...

what you do - I'm a college student at the University of Southern California. I study linguistics and French.

where you live - Unfortunately I'm in Los Angeles at the moment, but I'll be back home in a few days - specifically, Bristol. Lakes region represent!

any kids - Heh, not yet!

favourite sports team - I'm not a huge sports fan, but I think I'd have to go with the Bruins...

favourite sport - Hockey, although I certainly can't play it.

hobbies
- writing, composing music, movies, hiking, kayaking, photography, foreign languages, etc.

where you would hate to live
- as much as I love to travel, I think I'd hate to live anywhere other than New England!

worst place you ever lived
- Los Angeles. I can't wait to get out of this city.

best film(movie) - I'll admit it, I love Star Wars.

Ok, my turn............

Where you from: Grew up in Lawrence, MA. (when it was "good")- Moved to Methuen, MA 1968-90 / Salem, NH 1990-92 / Sandown, NH 1992- now.

Do you like NH: I love it here

Are you a native: New England baby, all the way!

What gets your goat about NH: Don't own one. Fisher got my cat once though.........

What you like best about NH: Landscape; everything around; NE seasons.

What you do: 20+ yrs. of repairs/maint. electric submersible pumps.

Where you live: Sandown, NH

Kids: oh yeh............enough to put more gray hairs on me.

Favorite Sports/Team: Don't care at all for sports. I like it when someone says to me....."so, what did you think of the game last night"? I tell them I don't watch sports. They look at me with .

Hobbies: Play my 1968 Gibson Les Paul; collect old bicycles/schwinn etc., I clean them up, ride them and then they hang in my 40' trailer (ah, that's the other thing I like about NH, having a 40' trailer in my yard and not paying taxes on it !); shooting in my back yard....and at trespassers .

Hate to live: Where there are no seasons...and especially FL.!

Worst place lived: Never been there.

Best film/movie: I love the old b/w horror flicks; old western; old war; old anything. They show crap now on TV, and I do mean CRAP!

where you from?
Born in NY, spent early years in Taconic Valley, lived in NJ during school, then to the Cape for the last 25 yrs.

do you like NH?
Heck yeah!!

are you a native?
see above

what gets your goat about NH?
Liberals coming in and trying to "fix" things. Leave it alone!!!

what you like best about NH?
Independant thinking, conservative, clean air, open space, big trucks with plows, many others......

what you do, where you live, any kids, favourite sports team, favourite sport, hobbies, where you would hate to live, worst place you ever lived, best film(movie) basically anything for a chit chat?

I'm an operations manager for a small auto parts chain.
I LOVE the Patriots (football in general) and auto racing (rally).
I love music (both playing and listening) and I play in two church worship bands presently. I love to cook and spend lots of time in the veggie garden.
I would hate to live anywhere there are no mountains or trees.
New Jersey was the absolute pits.
I love all sorts of movies, so it's hard to answer that one.

One of my favorite things to do is get people in an uproar. I'm basically a pain in the arse. I was the kid who used to poke a stick at the mean dog on the other side of the fence. Now I do it on blogs and forums. It's because people take things too seriously. I just like to get their fur up. People need to step outside of themselves and see life from other angles. There's more, but I'll spare you the boring details.

Peace, later, see ya on the flip side, asta lumbago, pasta mañana, chili today, hot tamale.

My family has a log home in the Berkshires that we recently built ourselves. We purchased a "kit" from Northeastern Log Homes out of Maine. It's 25x50 so it's far from a cabin, 3 bed, 2 bath, full basement, gourmet kitchen, etc. We love it there. It's on 18 acres outside of Lee, and its up on a hill about 1900' above sea level. It snows there quite a bit! Two years ago, we had 9 inches on Thanksgiving day! What a blast!
Here's a shot:

that is absolutly great mate, always have loved the log cabins since I saw them in the smokies, when you say cabin people think that it;s a small thing which it isn't

o and as for sport I used to deliver wine and beer , everymorning after a red sox game an bar owner would say hey what aboyt those sox last night
I'd be like huh o yea what a night
then I would ask my work partner what happened, I made the mistake once of saying yea great night hey
the owner turned around and said what you on about they lost
ah well

Wow....lot of musicians and songwriters on this forum...or spouses thereof

Woodworking seems to be pretty common, too.

Boo - my stepdaughter has a scrapbooking business - she does beautiful work and enjoys it immensely - she lives in Maine with her family...I'm a people watcher too - and love to make up little stories about various people I see <g>

Appreciation for the beauty of the state also seems to prevail as well as "independence."

I have no idea why I posted this, just seems interesting <g>
