Default Why did I move from Massachusetts?

www.welcometoepping.com

I should have never left. When someone speaks of New Hampshire generally people think about a nice easy going community with great views. That people would truly be more concerned with the environment than people in Mass., but in my case I was 180 off!!!

Check the site for what's been going on in my town!

Default Epping Junk yard

Did this happen after you moved in or was there a junkyard when you moved in?

When we were shown the house there was nothing going on here. There was one old milling machine next to junk-man's garage and some other relatively non-invasive stuff as well.

The end is near! The hammer is made of Tungsten and it's on it's way down.....

Check the new Easter update!

Angry Here's the Exeter News article. Check the www.WelcomeToEpping.com site for updates.

Check out the timeline page for the inexcusable behaviour committed today.

To intentionally terrorize and endanger children with an automobile is beyond disgusting.

This takes this issue to a totally new level.

Default to Epping

I was curious about something...I don't recall if you said it or if I read it on the website you referred us to but there was something mentioned about your water even being contaminated from chemicals at this junk yard...did they (the town, county, state) resolve that issue? How likely is it that it can contaminate the water throughout your whole town or county, or again, the state? I'm curious because we are considering moving to NH, somewhere in the seacoast vicinity. Although it's not for a couple of years, of course, contaminated water would be a concern for us and our children. Are there general issues such as yours elsewhere in the area? And lastly, I know you've had a horrible experience with this and you regret leaving (Mass??), but aside from what has happened to you, do you or did you like NH otherwise? I ask this because as unfortunate as your situation ended up, something made you want to relocate to NH in the first place. I'd like to know what it is since we're looking too. I would assume that before that "jerk" ruined things for you, you were happy with your decision to move there--yes/no???? I'm sorry for all the hassle you are dealing with and I do hope it works out for you (don't give up, you are in the right).

Thanks.

Default New Hampshire vs. Mass for us.

Yes we were happy to be going to a state where things should have been alot more peaceful. It is a shame that we got 'burned' by the town's disregard for our rights.

The issues with the water cannot be "pin-pointed" to the junkyard as the source of contamination as the aquifer is a complex science. Fluid dynamics are one of the most complex forms of physics. I will add that the levels in my well are considered to be below harmful, but when new chemicals appear at ANY level it is more than disturbing. We no longer drink the water, but the steam in baths or showers is the big concern. The other is that testing is 6 months apart and who knows what 'could' appear in between. When they came back with the acetone the last time I was losing my mind.

There have been many people who accuse us of being BMW driving M*ssh*oles, etc. and that we're looking to change NH into Mass. which is entirely untrue and would certainly contradict the move in the first place. As well people remark that I wouldn't even know how to change a wiper blade...

To put all this to rest:

1989-1993 I ran one of the largest "speed-shops" in the Merrimack valley. Operation built and restored antique and hot-rods similar to Boyd Coddington's place.

1993-1996 I ran, what was at the time, the largest Ford Motorsport dealer in the world.

1996-1999 I mananged the Earl's Competition division on Gasoline Alley in Indianapolis and worked with some of the best engineers at Ilmor, Infinity, and Cosworth engines.

1999-current The company I currently own, while focused in the Aerospace industry, still maintains large ties with high tech racing series as their cars are, in many aspects, aircraft designs without wings.

Anyway... yes New Hampshire is a beautiful state that should have better environmental laws, should require manditory VOC well water testing before a house is purchased, and should better uphold the rights of the people who pay the salaries for the leadership and enforcement of the laws.

NH is much more peaceful and pretty than Mass. when things are what they should be for it's residents.

Default Eppings Finest

It would seem a man with these credentials would be able to pick up and move at the drop of a hat. I have lived in Epping for 55 years and would not change anything. If you want Epping to be like Massachusetts you may want to reconsider moving back there I do not believe that the town’s people plan on changing for you or anybody else.

Epping’s Finest
