Those Rumney pics look like Stinson Mtn to me, am I right? You hiked on a much clearer day than I was able to. Did you take the snowmobile trail, or hiking trail? Sometime I'll take the snowmobile trail to see if there is any difference up there. My hike up Stinson Mtn was also the first time I saw a bear in the wild...a big fat one, passed out in the tree after gorging on raspberries. :-p
Great pics yourself. I've evjoyed browsing thru them all, and saying..."hey, I've been there before!"

Are you from the Rumney area or do you just get around the state a lot?
Yeah, those pics are from Stinson Mtn. The clear weather was great because we could see both Newfound and Squam from the summit.
We actually took the hiking trail up, but the snowmobile trail down. The snowmobile trail is probably the easier of the two because it's so level, but has a steady incline with no flat sections. You can descend pretty quickly on it (without worrying too much about tripping over something), although the path is pretty overgrown in spots during the summer.
Didn't see any bears, though.

I went to school at Plymouth State, so Rumney was practically my backyard for a few years. But yes, I do get around quite frequently. I'm an avid hiker. :-D RIght now I live in Lebanon.
Looking at your pics, I'm assuming you are from the the Plymouth area. Have you ever hiked up Mt Prospect in Holderness? I went up this mtn in April a few years ago, and was very surprised by the views.
Looking up towards the Kinsmans, Cannon, and Franconia Notch
In these next pics, you can see views over towards Mts Morgan, Percival, and Rattlesnake. Oh, and the southern Whites, near Sandwich Mtn.

Great photos! I'm actually from Bristol, but I haven't hiked Mt. Prospect. I did recently hike Percival and Morgan, though (pictures are in my "H" post a few pages back). The views from those summits between the lakes and mountains are all great.

Bienvenue - oh can't wait to see those signs again in TWO WEEKS.
Thanks for giving me my fix of pics for the night. Suzet will love those fall pics from Sandwich! I personally love the ones from the summit aka Seargants Purchase. Beautiful as always...and looking forward to the rest of the alphabet.
