it just takes a little granola and some strategic placement. They're gray jays...they usually occur in northern boreal forests all over north america (more northern than NH) but there is a population in the white mountains due to the climate. They are notorious all over their range for being camp thieves and very friendly with hikers.

They ONLY occur in the White mountains and at higher elevations where it is white pine forests....mostly the presidential range.

I've been able to feed chickadees by hand in the UP of Michigan, and hummingbirds will do it sometimes too, but overall that's about the only bird that will readily come up to unfamiliar people in different places. The others are trained by people/place.

nope, sorry. wrong season! I wear green during summer and winter (evergreen, you know!). Right now for fall I wear gold, and in spring I wear yellow. Not turning green - turning autumn.
