ok, I've been seeing these lilies *everywhere*, and today drove around like an obsessed lunatic trying to buy some of my own, but no luck. I thought I found some at a local farm stand where there are tons of plants for sale, but as I got closer I noticed they were not for sale, but planted
Thanks for sharing yours, JFR! Good timing!
Do you or does anyone know the name of this lily?

Are they tiger lillies? (Remember, I know NOTHING about gardening or flowers!) I do love them, though!

yes, I believe those are tiger lillies - some of them have dark spots on the petals. We have some growing around our satelite dish post at the back corner of our house. I've been seeing them planted along a lot of roadsides, too.
Hey Dare! I see you've got a second gold bar now. Extra special I see

JFR, your cats are very cute, and look totally spoiled And Queen Lily weighs 35 pounds?? Holy Moly!! That's alotta cat!!
And Lisa, yes, those are Tiger Lilies. I wish you had come to the Derry Garden Club's plant sale. Toward the end of the day, we were giving away a pot of lilies or iris with every purchase I'm sure that they'll have tiger lilies at the local nurseries, however, wait till fall and check with me--I may have lilies and hostas that are looking for new homes....

Hi Wanna - We had a lot of them in Rhinebeck - most of those had the dark spots on the petals. I had a landlady that had tons of them growing around the apartment and I really loved them.
I didn't notice the second gold bar - you're very observant I keep trying to give out reps and can only give them to a few people I'm going to have to venture out to other forums and read posts and rep, go into "rep lockdown" for 24 hours and hopefully by then will be able to rep those on my favorite forum

Thanks everyone--I thought they were tiger lilies, but the ones i'm seeing don't have the spots, so I wasn't sure. It seems like a cruel injustice that they are everywhere (yes, as if a plane dropped seeds) and I can't find them for sale!
Val, if I can't score some by fall I will let you know. Thanks again!
