Hey guys, my family went to the Griffith Observatory yesterday, and I took some pictures. I really wanted you all to see the awful smog we are having. And remember it is smog not the clouds coming in . The Observatory is beautiful though . The shots are just from different points of view.

Thanks for sharing your world Suzet! The smog looks terrible and it must get very difficult to breath when it's like that. What city are you overlooking with all of those houses? That is ALOT of houses which = alot of people!! My brother who lives in Redlands is coming to visit New England in a couple of weeks, and he always comments on how "empty" the highways feel to him (he's been in CA for a dozen years, and has completely acclimated to live there...)
OK, by the time I posted, you got more pictures loaded! Wow, you're a very beautiful family--you must turn heads when you walk by together... That last picture of you and Heather is stunning--you look more like sisters than mom/daughter.
I don't like you anymore... ya make me look bad, we're born the same year!! Just kidding (but we really are born the same year... sigh... what's your secret???)

The photos with all the tall buildings and homes, and yes there are A LOT..lol That is downtown Los Angeles and surrounding area. The one with the mountain, that area is Los Feliz. Yes the smog has just been awful . It makes me wheeze just looking at the pics . On a clear day, the view would have been stunning. It is still nice though.
Redlands is I think almost 2 hours east of where I live. I hope you and your brother have a great visit. Why would he want to come back here . LOL. I would love to drive on an "empty" highway . I cant even imagine what would be like to drive on a quite road.

Lmao, I was reponding to your first post while you were writting another one . You are so sweet Valerie. Thank you for the kind words. Umm, my secret, lighting!!! Haha, I dont get too close to the camera and you have to make sure the lighting is right . Trust me, I have lots of wrinkles, remember I live in the tan capitol...they just dont show up on film . I am predjudice(sp?) about my girls, I think they are beautiful , as do all moms when it comes to their kids . Heather is the writer and artist of the family. April is more the business woman, she got that from her Dad. They are both Geminis to the core...

Nice photos Suzet! Although the smog makes me dread going back to school in LA at the end of August... Well, I guess I'll enjoy the fresh air here while I still can. And I should only have one more semester at USC...
Actually, I should make it a point to get up to the observatory sometime this fall, because I never have before. But considering I don't have a car, my chances might be limited.

Thank you Verseau .
The fall should be a nice time to go the observatory, it should be way cooler and hopefully the smog wont be as bad. What classes are you taking at USC?
Definetly enjoy the nice clean air while you can .

I'm majoring in Linguistics with a minor in French. This semester I'll be studying Italian, Japanese syntax, phonology, and writing an honors thesis. My thesis is actually about differences in speech across age groups in New Hampshire, so I'm in the process of interviewing and recording people right now.
If all goes well, I'll finish up my French requirements in the spring (my last semester) in Paris. I just don't even want to think about what the flight's going to cost...
