That sounds like a great idea for a thread! French-Canadians actually make up the largest ancestry group in New Hampshire (about 27%), and there are over 40,000 people in NH who speak French as their first language (many of whom live in Coos County and Manchester). There are a few good documentaries about the French influence in New England, notably
Franco-Americans: We Remember and
Reveil: Waking Up French.

Every language you learn makes you yet another person, as some say.

And French is the most-spoken language after English in NH, so you might find it useful.
I hope I can go to Paris too; I've actually been a few times before, but I'd love to live with a French host family there. Last spring, I studied in England for six months and got to do some travelling around France, which was incredible. So I really want to go back. And it's always great to get out of LA, lol.
