Those cats are hysterical! Does each one have it's own litterbox, too? I'm assuming the tickets weren't a surprise for your wife's birthday?
One of my relatives has.....are you ready?.......15 cats! Each one has his/her own litter box - there is one room in the house that is "devoted" to the litter boxes and each cat has his/her own bed in various rooms of the house

Awww, sorry you didn't beat your wife to the mailbox, but I'll bet it was a nice surprise anyway

I am so glad you enjoyed your drive. How was the weekend? What did you do?

Great pics NH2NCMOM!!! I still cant see Journey without Steve. I dont care who they get to sing in his place. There will never be another like him.
Glad you got to see the photo, Suzet, I snapped the shot when my DH finally convinced me to look up & out the windshield. I felt fine once I saw that, and was able to be "normal" in the car the whole way home.
A far cry from LA's freeways, or even SCV's roads!! Very peaceful, beautiful low traffic ride.

We met friends who were camping in their humungous camper. I'd like to say I enjoyed myself --I love the white mountain region, and love hiking, canoeing, etc. Just don't like family camping so much, but did it for the kids and spent most of the time trying not to be a stick in the mud with a killer migraine and throwing up at Clark's Trading Post! (sorry, TMI, I know...) Never imagined I'd be so high maintenance. Next trip I'll make reservations instead! My kids had a blast w/my friend's kids, and that's really why we went anyway, they are what it's all about.

We do really want to go back to the mountains or lakes region now that I can deal w/the ride so if anyone can recommend a very nice place to stay, w/access to trails, attractions, etc., I'd appreciate it. B&Bs or decent vacation rentals included It'll be awhile before I consider camping again!

Lisa - sorry you had the migraine - those are never fun. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the ride, though and that your kids had such fun!

As for a place to stay.....there's always Thayer's with the resident ghosts

Anyway, here is Chance's own webpage, that tells his story, and some pics of him as a younger dog:
Chance's Page!

I loved Chances' story. His name is perfect for him. He was meant to be your dog.

I agree with not buying puppies from pet stores!! The whole puppy mill thing is just sickening. I belong to an animal rights organization, I have seen with great distress what happens to those poor animals. I cant even think about it without gettting sick to my stomach and crying..anyway..

Dare you ROCK!!! That is awesome you stayed there and talked to people about those horrendous mills. Oh, and I dont think I would want to go into the "designated room" for the kittie boxes. Haha. 15 cats. Now thats a lot of kitties. Truthfully, if I could have more, I would. I love my kitties.

Lisa, the photo posted ok. It was a beautiful shot. I bet you could feel "normal" driving with scenery like that. It is a very far cry from the roads and freeways out here, as you said. I hope you get to the point where you are totally comfortable driving in your car. I do know how you feel, and it sucks when being in a car can cause fear or just uncomfortableness.

JFR, sorry the surprised was ruined.

just checked out chance's page - Val, he's beautiful! The standard poodle seems to have such elegance. Is he still easily frightened?

Angry Puppy Mills

I agree puppy mils are very bad. We just had one taken over by the human soc. There were hundreds of them and some were dead in the cages. It was just so gross to hear all that. Not only were there dogs and cats there were also horses. We rescused my dog (he was an adult) harder to train them for your lifestyle, but they need help too. I can tell he is in a much better place even though he has a bit of an seperation problem, but I wouldn't of had that funny laugh yesterday when he popped his head up to see me and his lips were stuck over his teeth. What a goof ball.

Haha, in my family, we call that "rubber lips". Our dogs get that all the time, and they do look completely stupid. I laugh everytime one of my dogs get his rubber lips. Thank god for our animals. They bring so much to our lives. I love all mine, with all my heart.
