Don't worry, I'll still be around. I can probably dig up some photos that I haven't posted here yet, too. I'll also be going home in October for a weekend so I'll be sure to post my foliage photos!

Thanks for the compliments on my pictures as always! Now it's off to the airport...

Views from the Scenic Vista in Intervale:

And then there's this...the visitor's center. Is it just me or does it look like a cell block?? They said they built it so that it wouldn't detract from the view. Umm...yeah. I think it's uuuuugly!

drat! I think the reset lost my post.

ok. Gee! Kitty pics!! I don't usually come on this thread because with dial-up, it takes too long to load pics. But...

dmsith, you have a Manx cat (as in Isle of Man... Manx), yes they are born tail-less. Kinda like the Japanese Bob-tails which come in 'stump', 'bump' or 'rump' styles!

Coons are lovely, but be prepared for a BIG cat! They average around 20lbs without being fat - and the boys can get to 25.

Gotta plug my favorites (and the cousin/possible progenitor to the coon): the Norwegian Forest Cat! There's even a breeder in Francestown! Norwegian Forest Cat Breeder - Norwegian Forest Cattery - Brown Mackerel, Brown Classic tabby, Blue classic and Patched tabby as well as Quinsigimond Cattery in MA.

This is my cat Canute (who is currently having a fascinating dream on my lap!) when he was a baby when I got him he was 4 months old and looked more like

Oh, Canute is not a silver, he's a gray mackerel tabby (well, technically it's called 'blue') but they do come in all colors and combinations, just like Coons. Oh, and Wegies are a little smaller than Coons - and the breeders claim that individually they are hypoallergenic! I don't have allergies, so I can't tell, and DH who does is used to them anyway.

here is a shot of Magnus and Canute - while Magnus isn't all fluffed and posing, you can get an idea of them. Canute is mostly just eyes and tail curled up in the 'hole'!http://www.flickr.com/photos/7745222@N02/2746940308/in/set-72157606630816597/ (broken link)

the big cats, Wegies and Coons, aren't full grown until they're about 5 years old. They are definate personalities, though! and very friendly and mellow.

Well, off to CPR!!

Default Wow!

Super pics, Grouseking! I absolutely love them all! Is it okay if I 'steal' the snow arch one for my screensaver? I'm in Louisiana and it's 92 degrees here right now and very humid (even more so than normal b/c there is a tropical storm headed our way - lucky us!) Anyways, welcome and keep those great pics coming!
