Worst places in N.H. (Manchester, Concord: home, taxes, to live in) - New Hampshire (NH) - City-Data Forum

I want to know what towns people would NOT want to live in. You can't just say a Town or City in N.H. without stating the reasons for it. So where in N.H. would you not want to live and WHY?

Anything south of Concord is just Northern Mass.

Ouch. Painful but true. And I'm on the seacoast. Pains me to see the MA people screwing up traffic, pretending they own the place, driving up prices, then go back to MA and talk smack like we're a bunch of inbred hicks.

They want all the advantages but none of the responsibilities.

That's just sad, and just what I was afraid of...looking at moving there possibly in the Exeter area...after a scouting mission of course..

Actually, Exeter's not too bad, taxes and home prices are a bit high for my liking.

Newmarket is good, and so is Brentwood. Don't move to Epping if you have kids.

Avoid Manchester like the plague unless you want to be around a bunch of criminally-influenced Mass. rejects.

Thanks for the info! I just hope there is not a mass exodus (scuse the pun) of folks from Mass. into NH...fear for the politics in NH then...eee..

Too late. Already happening. Wasn't Lynch one of like four Democrat governors since 1920 or so? IIRC, there have only been 8 Democrat governors (two year terms, remember) since the GOP was formed. Shaheen and King are the only Democrats reelected as governor, but Lynch looks like he's going to win in November.

Oh, just you wait until the Mass-a-two-shhhts people vote in a ton of new taxes, etc...then wonder why everyone is leaving just like they did in MA and the rest of the liberal lands like CA, etc...

Look what happened here in Vermont....we were a moderate/conservative state until the 60s when all the "flatlanders" moved up here. Now, we're labeled as a liberal state. True for the most part, but you'll find the native Vermonters (like myself) are more conservative, though moderate.

But hasn't NH traditionally had a lot of commuters who work in Mass and live in NH? I mean, the jobs are in Mass, for the most part. If NH wanted to stop the influx, they could make the tax situation not very attractive for those who are from Mass, and want to continue to work there, but live in NH. But maybe then you would ***** up your own state's economy. It's a delicate balance.
I know people have said "don't go south of Concord", but what about the Deering area? How is it to live near that lake/resevoir?
